Okay a real update...
Things are great here on the home front...in case he has not posted the oldest got some great news a few days ago. He had to go to summer school and retake the end of school test to go on to the next grade...
And he passed with flying colors. Better than flying colors, he got the best score of anyone...I am so proud of him and hope he continues his hard work through out school. I am trying to impose on him slightly (as I am not his mom) that school is one of the most important things you will do in your life. We're going to get him something special that he really wanted for staying dedicated and doing so well.
We went school shopping and got all the kids some new stuff for school...I loved it. I love to see a kids face light up and last weekend I got to see three of them. Because Ryan and the youngest pretty much have the same waist size we also went through all of Ryan's old jeans...old but still in great shape and passed them down. He had so much fun trying them on. And I got a hug from the oldest...something that I never expected to get, as there have been a few settling in, mixing families problems. You know, I'm the new person...etc. etc.
To get Ryan registered for school here is more time consuming and I want to say difficult (although that's not the right word) than I ever expected. Just to get registered for school, for second grade...he had to have a Dr. exam, a hearing exam, a vision exam, and a dental exam. I understand why, because some kids may have never had some of those, butttttt...it is still tedious in a way. But after today he will have all the appt.s done and we will go to the open house and see which of the 7 second grade teachers he has so we can go and get some school supplies. Each teacher has a different list, nothing common on any of them...and please tell me why a student needs 50 sharpened pencils on the first day of school, and does that include the mechanical ones? Or do they have to be the ones that they actually sharpen? On another school note...there will never be a time when he needs to pack his lunch. His school lunches back home were great, there was two different entrees to choose from and a salad bar...here they have 4 entrees, multiple veggies, fruits...a mothers dream. Although I have a feeling he will choose the PBandJ everyday. But that's okay too...as long as he gets the other things as well.
Talking about Dr.s appt.s, he went to the dentist the other day...and if I had went to a dentist like that when I was a kid then I don't think I would have ever grown up having issues with the dentist now. We walked in and it was like walking into an aquarium. Every surface was painted like you were under water and there was a canoe on the ceiling. The main cleaning room where the kids go was like you were in a jungle. They do two kids at a time while the rest sit and play with toys or video games. They had every console you could imagine...minus the Atari or first Nintendo. For the rooms for the extra stuff...fillings, crowns...etc. they have TV's in the ceiling. IN THE CEILING. I was in awe.
I had another Dr. appt. yesterday. The one before the Dr. said the baby was going to be big...this Dr. said the same thing, based on my belly size. With Ryan, I saw him move inside me, felt all his kicks in my ribs, and everything else that goes with being pregnant...this time...when the baby rolls...my whole belly rolls. I took a cold bath last week just to cool off and laid back into the tub and literally watched my stomach come to almost a point as he moved in an upwards direction. It was soooo neat. So I sat up and got warm and laid back and did it again, and once again my belly went to an almost point.
I thought for sure this little guy would already be here by now. But he's still baking. I am ready to have him out, to see his little face, feel those little baby fingers and toes... Just a while longer.
Ohhhh and those crotch kicks Zombs...they freaking are the weirdest things. I hate them and they make me jump. I'll be sitting there and all of a sudden jerk because he is I guess now punching down there. I don't like it and that is one thing I am ready to be done with.
Smooches everyone...not much longer now till we are newlyweds with a baby...
I can't wait to see his face the first time he holds our baby.
